A Closer Look at McCoy & McCoy

The law firm of McCoy & McCoy was founded in 1960 by Frank McCoy who decided that he wanted to help the people of Connecticut who have been wrongfully injured. Today, the firm now has over 40 years of experience practicing law, and can offer a lot to nay client who has been injured. The firm was established to be uniquely focused only on personal injury cases, and because of that there time and practice has been completely devoted to this area of law, not distracted by other areas such as criminal or divorce, etc.

The founder of this firm comes from a strong educational background, a great starting ground for his practice. Having graduated from Yale University in 1949 he then went on to Connecticut School of Law where he graduated in 1956. For more information about our founding attorney, click here. Frank McCoy Jr. has now been practicing law for over twenty years and is a well-known lawyer in his state. He has been accredited by the American Bar Association and received one of their awards for Civil Trial Advocate from The National Board of Legal Specialty. With his experience and passion for the justice of his community, McCoy & McCoy have dedicated their lives and their firm to representing those in court who have been wrongfully injured, helping them receive the compensation hey truly deserve.

Having had forty years to determine the direction they wanted their firm to go, McCoy & McCoy have established their mission or philosophy as being first and foremost, "all about the client." Their primary concern is the wellbeing of those they represent, not only wining a case, but helping them as individuals who have been hurt in some way. We understand how hard a personal injury can be, both physically and emotionally. Not only that, but the added financial pressures can be overwhelming in of itself. Whether a loved one was injured or killed as a result of the accident, it is likely they will lose wages from work, along with having to come up with money for the medical bills.

Insurance companies will help out their clients after an injury, but in most cases, the assistance they offer isn't enough to fully help the injured person or their family. Also, an insurance adjuster will try to do whatever they can to get you to settle with an amount of money without hiring an attorney to look at what you actually deserve. Our firm has a lot of experience dealing with insurance companies, click here to watch a brief informational video about it: http://bit.ly/SRpkoL. At McCoy & McCoy we want to help our clients receive what they deserve in an amount of money that is actually beneficial to them. With years of experience under our belts, our firm has had the opportunity to help a variety of different types of personal injury cases. For example: amusement park accidents, car accidents, construction accidents, dog bites, drowning, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, product liability, wrongful death cases, and many others.

For some reason, many people don't often think that amusement parks can create injuries, we see millions of people going in and out of the park doors in safe conditions, and yet though they may be rare, incidents do occur; and the results can be fatal. A variety of instances can happen at an amusement park, such as physical injuries from the ride itself and the seat belts or bars not being secure enough, people dropping items from the top of a roller coaster only to hit someone in the head, and more. Worst case scenario, the roller coasters themselves malfunction or break down and catastrophic injuries can occur or even death. Our firm has experience helping those who have been injured by an amusement park, and if this is you we want to help!

Medical malpractice is unfortunately very common today, whether it is a misdiagnosis, an error in surgery, or neglect, people are being made more ill or killed because of their physician or the hospital itself. Our society depends on doctors greatly, and we understand that training up the next generation is a vital part of the medical field, and yet if an experienced doctor fails to oversee those in training, dangerous accidents can happen. The possibilities are endless, and at our firm we understand how sensitive and difficult this time can be for anyone. When a loved one is severely injured or wrongfully killed, there is no way to bring them back, though with our help we will fight for the financial compensation that you and your family deserve for the hardship. At McCoy & McCoy we want to walk with you through every step of the way as we seek what is deserved after your tragic incident.

Wrongful death not only occurs in the medical malpractice arena, anything that takes the life of another that could have been prevented, may be a wrongful death claim possibility. For example, if your son was killed by a drunk driver, as his family you have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Or, if your spouse was killed while working on a construction worksite you have the right to pursue the lawsuit; and the list goes on. When dealing with wrongful death cases, it is important to know however, that a family has only 2 years in which they can legally file their claim.
