You expect certification from your doctor and you should expect it from your lawyer too. When looking for a Connecticut Car Accident Attorney, be sure that he/she is Nationally Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate, through the The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA). The NBTA is a national certification program that provides recognition for superior achievement in trial advocacy.
The Board Certification Program was created for the purpose assisting the public in making an informed decision when seeking and selecting a lawyer. Importantly, only board certified attorneys are allowed to identify themselves as a "Specialist", or as an "Expert" in a specific field of law.
In order to become board certified in the area of civil litigation, a personal injury lawyer takes extra steps to have their competence and experience recognized. The Connecticut accident lawyer must demonstrate a complete knowledge of personal injury litigation, and possess a high degree of skill in this particular area. Certificate holders undergo a thorough screening of their credentials, including: documentation of their experience, judicial and peer references, an exam, and continuing legal education in the field of specialization.

January 10, 2010 WFSB Reports –
Students from the Greater Hartford Academy of Math and Science were involved in a fatal Connecticut school bus accident early Saturday morning. A 16-year-old honor student was killed and seventeen others were injured when the bus collided with another vehicle and then fell 20 feet into a ravine off interstate 84.
The cause of the Connecticut bus accident is still unknown, although police believe that an unsafe lane change may have led to the highway collision. It is uncertain which vehicle was guilty of the driving infraction.
The cause of death for the young man in this fatal Connecticut accident has been ruled as a blunt traumatic head injury. He was described by the mayor of Rocky Hill as one of the schools “best and brightest” and was remembered by mourners who gathered Sunday.

The Connecticut Post recently ran a story about a pit bull that had to be repelled with pepper spray. The dog had been harassing employees at the Sacred Heart University’s Park Avenue campus.
According to the police spokesman, the security officers at the college reported the pit bull had been "aggressively" barking and also had tried to bite one of the guards.
The security staff was forced to fire pepper spray at the dog in order to get him to run home.
The dogs owner was issued infractions for allowing a dog to roam, having a nuisance dog, and failure to license. The fines totaled $242.
If you or someone you know has been a dog bite victim, you are not alone. Approximately 1,000 Americans arrive in emergency rooms every day of the year because of dog bites.
Connecticut imposes strict liability upon the owner or keeper of a dog that injures property or inflicts bodily injuries on a person. If you have been the victim of a dog bite injury call the Attorneys at the Law Offices of McCoy & McCoy. Our office represents children and adults who have been injured by a dog.
