Connecticut Accident Lawyer Speaks About the Dangers of Portable Pools

Last evening Connecticut Accident Lawyer Frank McCoy spoke to an attentive crowd about the dangers of protable pools.  His information included the way the pools are designed, the lack of safety methods, and the importance of constant supervision.

The design of  protable pools make them look inviting and fun. They are bright, colorful and not as intimidating as a deep inground pool.  The price makes them even more attractive.  Due to their low cost and ease of use, portable pools - which include wading pools, inflatable pools and soft-sided, self-rising pools - seem like the perfect alternative to their built in competitors.  The design of these pools is very different though.  The collapsable sides, the inflatable plastic, and the built in slides have resulted in numerous injuries and deaths.

The Connecticut accident lawyer continued to warn the attendees to be aware of the safety differences in a portable versus a permanant pool. Many of the safety methods such as pool alarms, lockable ladders, fencing, and safety covers are not required for the purchase of portable pools.  With out these safety features the pool becomes a breeding ground for personal injury.

Adults must be overly protective when supervising children in any portbale pool. As previously stated these pools are a breeding ground for accidents and injuries. Because of thier smaller size adults do not see the dangerous threat they impose. The best method to prevent near drowning and drowning events is constant adult supervision. Studies indicate that in more than half of the incidents in which children drowned in portable pools there was not any adult supervision.
